Forestry Supervisor

Vegetation Management - Forestry Services & Maintenance Supervises a team responsible for the vegetation management maintenance program and other services; provides daily supervision of team, ensuring that relevant standards/procedures are followed, including safety rules; provides coaching and guidance to employees; monitors performance; implements process improvements; ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreement; supports new hire training and onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning Either collaboratively or individually develops and implements strategy and vision for team; collaborates with other departments to ensure teams have tools and equipment needed to deliver services to customers; collaboratively or individually develops performance standards for team; develops and implements plans to facilitate employee engagement.
Safety Observes employees and contractors to ensure they are following all safety rules; conducts field visits to ensure members have the appropriate tools and equipment to perform work safely; resolves safety issues/concerns in an appropriate and timely manner; communicates safety lessons learned and promotes continuous learning of safe work methods, practices and procedures.
Vendor Management Manage vendor relationships, including selecting vendors, establishing metrics and service level agreements, monitoring vendor performance, and working with vendors to resolve issues.
Financial Management Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; monitors and optimizes operational effectiveness.
Resourcing May develop resource plans for team; implements resourcing decisions; partners with HR and other leaders in the recruitment, evaluation, and selection processes.
Professional Development Maintains knowledge of skill-development tools/resources; advises on required outcomes for learning or development from knowledge of available tools and organizational development needs; assists employees in creating development plans and monitors progress.
Education
Requires a bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience
Prefer five or more years of experience in vegetation management, utility operations, or related field with at least three years of formal or informal leadership experience.
Certifications, Licenses and Training
Licenses: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist, ISA TRAQ, ODA Pesticide Consultant, and ISA Board Certified Master Arborist.
Any missing licenses shall be required within 6 months of obtaining position.

Compensation Range:
$107,025.00 - $178,375.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
