About the Role
We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Analytics Manager to join our team. As a key member of our analytics department, you will be responsible for managing a team of senior analysts and providing technical support for various business functions. Your expertise in quantitative analysis will help us make informed decisions about energy market trends, risk management, and portfolio optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of senior analysts responsible for analyzing trends, building forecasts, and interfacing with internal stakeholders.
- Provide oversight and support for quantitative analysis evaluating risk, opportunities, and strategies based on option pricing theories.
- Serve as the team's liaison with PSE's Power Operations IT, Risk, Financial Forecasting, and Transmission Services teams to ensure alignment and coordination.
- Oversight of resourcing decisions and planning for the team; partner with HR in the definition of jobs, recruitment, evaluation, and selection processes.
- Reviews organizational development for the team to support their ongoing development; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching, mentoring, and feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering, physics, mathematics, finance, economics, or computer programming; master's degree desirable or equivalent experience.
- Eight or more years of experience in trading, structuring, research, analysis, engineering, programming, design, and/or modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of the electric utility industry and electric energy markets, including trading, scheduling procedures, state and federal policies and regulations, and underlying physical infrastructure and networks.
- Advanced knowledge of traded commodity markets, such as electric bulk power generation, natural gas, transmission, and other commodity markets that impact the cost of electricity.
- Advanced mathematical and analytical skills, including calculus, linear algebra, mixed integer programming, probability, multivariate statistics, real analysis, numerical analysis, and operations research.
