SUMMARY
As a Senior Principal Civil Structural Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to lead civil engineering initiatives through extended knowledge of civil engineering principles and all applicable codes, regulatory requirements and standards. You will orchestrate all technical aspects of complex projects, coordinating multiple-discipline activity and establishing work plans for given projects. A successful candidate will have expert knowledge of engineering and economic principles and concepts, as well as advanced project management skills in managing large complex projects related to nuclear regulations and commercial projects. Will require working with project teams to budget, forecast, and execute work within approved budget. Additionally, you will need expert organization and prioritization skills, along with advanced written and oral communication abilities. In this role, you'll serve as an industry expert, potentially participating in professional societies by presenting research or attending 10 CFR Part 72 Licensee User Groups and coordinating with industry peers. You'll be assisting in technical audits internally and externally, as well as interfacing with regulators and participating in site audits. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering Standards: All Engineering - Maintains currency in state-of-the- art engineering practices and establishes engineering processes and standards and coordinates with nuclear industry leaders to develop innovative and creative solutions for aging management requirements established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Engineering Standards: Civil/Structural Design - Leads civil engineering initiatives through extended knowledge of civil engineering principles and all applicable codes, regulatory requirements and standards. Applies knowledge to plan, develop, coordinate and direct major and minor project assignments with complex features associated with design, construction, regulations, license commitments, maintenance or testing/calibration; discerns the need for and provides technical guidance and support to other engineers and stakeholders.
Engineering Production: All Engineering - Orchestrates all technical aspects of complex projects; coordinates multiple-discipline activity and establishes work, charters, and execution plans to be applied to given projects.
Engineering Production: Civil/Structural Design - Serves as an expert for all aspects of civil engineering and construction for commercial and nuclear facilities; provides technical consultation and guidance to colleagues, department, organization, regulatory agencies and company; determines design requirements to assist construction activities for more complex projects and determines project requirements and scope for more complex projects.
Project Coordination: All Engineering - Actively coordinates with other internal/external team members on complex projects, representing the team to internal and external stakeholders (i.e., regulatory, government, technical society, etc.) and provides direction to cross- functional groups.
Project Coordination: Civil/Structural Design - Proactively identifies new projects for the company and leads projects with complex design, construction, maintenance and testing elements in support of engineering and construction needs of the site.
Knowledge Sharing: All Engineering - Is externally recognized as an industry expert. May participate in professional societies by presenting papers or act as a section lead for a large or complex specialty area.
Knowledge Sharing: Civil/Structural Design - Provides input and review of technical training for department and company training; develops and provides technical training to department and company through internal training program.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS
Education
Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET- accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency.
Experience
Typically, 10 or more years in related field.
Typically, experienced working in a Nuclear Environment
Certifications
Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
PMP Preferred but not required

Compensation Range:
$130,900.00 - $243,100.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
