Portland Leather Goods is looking for a skilled and proactive Facility Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of our building in SE Portland. This role is responsible for ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently, implementing preventative maintenance schedules, and managing facility-related vendors and compliance protocols. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in general building maintenance, light carpentry, and knowledge of electrical, plumbing, roofing, and construction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure the facility remains in optimal condition.
- Identify and address wear and tear, taking proactive steps to prevent future issues.
- Conduct light carpentry, general repairs, and basic troubleshooting of building systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, training staff as needed.
- Manage and supervise the cleaning crew, ensuring they maintain cleanliness and upkeep standards.
- Bi-Monthly: Elevator servicing and backflow testing.
- Monthly: Forklift inspections, HVAC filter replacements, fire extinguisher checks, pallet jack maintenance, and mini-split system checks.
- Biannual: Greasing garage door chains, clearing debris from awnings/roof, lubricating pallet jacks, and cleaning air filters with antimicrobial treatment.
- Annual: Coordinate city backflow testing and fire safety inspections, including fire extinguishers and alarm system testing.
- Identify facility issues beyond in-house capabilities and source external vendors for repairs.
- Obtain and present vendor quotes to the financial team for approval.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and building regulations.
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Manage basic maintenance requests at our 2nd Portland retail location on NW 23rd Avenue.
- Basic understanding of lighting (electrical), plumbing and security systems.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a similar role.
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, roofing, and construction.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform hands-on repairs and coordinate with external vendors when necessary.
- Experience managing cleaning crews and ensuring facility cleanliness.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
- Valid drivers license and ability to drive company vehicle.
- Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or building maintenance are a plus.
- Experience working in a warehouse or multi-site facility environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance regulations.
- Forklift certified (or ability to become certified upon hire).

- Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 (dependent upon experience)
