Special Education Educational Technician (full time 1.0 FTE) - Portland High School

Portland High School has openings for Special Education Ed Technicians.  Each position would work closely with Special Educators and would be working both 1-1 and in small groups with students.  The position also includes mainstream "push in" in core content classes, art, health, and physical education.   The successful candidate will also be part of a solid group of Ed Techs in the building.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to manage data management systems, analyze, ans synthesize data
Ability to Support teaching and learning
Ability to manage and oversee schoolwide testing procedures
Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and other in an open, friendly, business-like manner.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Approval as an Educational Technician III by the Maine Department of Education.In the alternative, Maine provisional or professional teacher certification.
Preference will be given to candidates with a college degree that includes nine credit hours related to an education field such as behavior management or classroom strategies, and to candidates who have at least one year of experience working with students in structured situations.
