What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary PreK Ed Tech (0.5 FTE) - PATHS position at Portland Public Schools?
At the direction of the principal, this role assists teachers by performing a variety of tasks that promote student learning and well being. Duties involve helping with lunch prep and clean up duties for Pre-K students, shared monitoring of students in the classroom and at recess, and assisting with general classroom management.
This is a part time position, three hours a day, five days a week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Applicants must have the ability to support and supervise play and learning with Pre-K children in the classroom and on the playground
Applicants must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
Applicants must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, and operating and maintenance instructions
Applicants must have the ability to interact with staff, students, and others in an open, friendly, professional manner.
Multilingual applicants encouraged
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Approval as an Educational Technician II by the Maine Department of Education.In the alternative, Maine provisional or professional teacher certification.
