Position Summary
The Project Associate primarily supports projects for Oregon Consensus but may also support other programs at the National Policy Consensus Center through providing advanced process support to project managers, assigned project teams, and other center related initiatives.
This position will also participate in project planning, communications and outreach, assessments and budget development as needed, and may participate in applied research and training. Project participation and support is the majority of the position’s responsibility, with additional time dedicated to supporting and managing internal processes as requested by NPCC leadership.
In accordance with the AAUP collective bargaining agreement this position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and a history of contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be creative, take initiative, be adaptable, and work both as part of a team and independently.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and other software, internet, website management, and other electronic media.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- 1-year experience providing project management support.
- Possession of a valid State-issued driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or advanced professional degree with 1 years of related work experience in public service, public administration, public policy, community development, or public engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working with community members and leaders from both urban and rural settings.
- Demonstrated experience working with Black communities, Indigenous communities, and other communities of color.
- 1-year experience working with community members and government leaders.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships involving considerable tact and diplomacy with public officials, private organizations, contractors, other PSU employees, and the public.
- Ability to listen and identify important concepts or ideas in dialogue and to record or summarize them accurately.

Work Days/Hours
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, hybrid schedule to be determined.
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
The starting annual salary for this position will be between $54,684 and $61,152, but may be negotiated above this range, dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
