- Media Management:
- Manage media interactions, interviews, and press conferences.
- Translate interviews and press conferences in real time.
- Serve as contact for team media inquiries and maintain strong relationships with journalists.
- Lead the preparation and distribution of press releases and media materials.
- Create and distribute game notes to media and broadcasters.
- Closely monitor media landscape and social media, assisting with distribution of press clippings to senior management.
- Travel with team to road matches, managing match day -1 media availability.
- Serve as primary communications stakeholder for Academy and T2.
- Content Development:
- Pitch feature stories to social media/content team.
- Pitch feature stories to journalists.
- Track club and player stats for digital channels.
- Identify and alert team of significant records.
- Keep player and staff bios up to date.
- Internal Communication:
- Maintain strong trusting relationships with players and staff.
- Work with players and staff to fulfill media and broadcast requests.
- Collaborate with various departments to maintain consistent messaging and alignment with team objectives.
- Coordinate and prep club players, staff and executives for media appearances.
- Assign and review work from communications intern.
- Game Day Support:
- Assist with all aspects of game day communication activities, including press box operations, parking operations, media and broadcast credentialing, and assist with post-match interviews.
- Lead game recaps.
- Facilitate real-time updates and media access during matches.
- Play a key role in post-game press conferences and interviews.
- Coordinate T2 match coverage, credentials and game recaps.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to accurately translate media interviews in real time. Native Spanish speaker is a plus.
- Preferrable exposure to sports communication functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an unwavering attention to detail.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, especially during events and game days.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the capability to build positive relationships with media professionals, players, and staff.
- Soccer knowledge and a genuine passion for the sport are highly desirable.
