Responsibilities:
- Diagnose & repair outboard engines, including Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, and Evinrude
- Perform routine maintenance – oil changes, fuel system inspections, and water pump replacements
- Troubleshoot electrical and fuel system issues
- Install new outboard motors and rigging components
- Repair & install steering systems, throttle controls, and related accessories
- Conduct engine performance testing and sea trials as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications & industry safety standards
- Communicate with service advisors & customers regarding diagnostics and repair recommendations
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience as an outboard technician or marine mechanic (certifications preferred)
- Knowledge of outboard engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and rigging
- Strong diagnostic & problem-solving skills
- Ability to read & interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Familiarity with marine diagnostic tools & software
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Manufacturer certifications (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, etc.) are a plus
