Portland YouthBuilders is offering a paid 7-9 week State Certified Pre-Apprenticeship Construction position with hands-on training from top industry professionals starting May 20th, 2025
Our Bridge to Construction Program offers a financial incentive equaling $15/hr, with additional incentives and leadership opportunities available.
Program requirements are:
- Being a resident in Multnomah or Washington County, Oregon
- Having a GED or high school diploma
- Being available during the program schedule: Monday 8:00am-12:00pm, Tuesday-Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm

Getting started at Portland YouthBuilders can lead to direct or preferred entry into high-paying Union & Non-Union Apprenticeships and other employment opportunities through our many industry partners.
After successful completion of our Bridge to Construction Program, you will be prepared with:
- Career coaching and personalized direction for job placement and job readiness skills
- Comprehensive understanding of basic/intermediate/advanced construction and math skills, blueprint reading and exposure to many different trades
- Bureau of Labor and Industries Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate
- CPR & First-Aid certificate
- OSHA 10 Safety certificate
- Green Building certificate from Earth Advantage
- Overview of the construction process from start to finish
