What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEM Teacher - Summer Program position at Portledge School?
Portledge School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced STEM Teacher to inspire and guide students in rising Kindergarten through 5th grade this upcoming summer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young learners and a strong foundation in a variety of STEM disciplines, including but not limited to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field (preferred); Teaching Certification (preferred)
Experience working with young children in a STEM or inquiry-based learning environment
Ability to foster a growth mindset in students through hands-on, engaging lessons that spark curiosity and problem-solving
Strong communication skills, with the ability to make complex concepts accessible and fun for young learners
Ability to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and teamwork
Physical ability to walk, stand, and engage actively with students for extended periods, as well as lift up to 30 lbs as needed

Schedule:
Available Monday-Friday from 8:45am-3:15pm, June 30-August 8
