Job Description:
Portledge School seeks to hire a dynamic Upper School World Language Teacher for both French and Spanish for a full-time leave replacement position from late August 2025 - early April 2026. The ideal candidate is driven to create a classroom environment where student learning is a non-negotiable goal and passion is evident on a daily basis. Responsibilities include teaching 5 sections of a combination of Upper School French and Spanish (Grades 9-12), serving as an advisor to approximately 8 - 10 students, participating collegially in meetings and initiatives of the World Language Department and the Upper School division and taking an active role in the life of the school community. This position will report directly to the Upper School Division Head, and take an active role in the life of the school community. Proficiency in Spanish and French and the ability to teach both languages is required for this position.

Qualifications:
BA Degree minimum; advanced degree preferred in relevant area(s)
Teaching certification preferred
Native or near-native fluency in French and Spanish preferred
Training/familiarity with inter-disciplinary or project-based learning
Candidates with formal teaching experience given preference
Superb written and oral communication as well as organizational and time management skills
