What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Legal position at Ports North?
Location : Miami, FL or Hybrid (with monthly travel to Miami, FL and / or Houston, TX). Out-of-state candidates will only be considered if they are licensed to practice law in Florida.
About the Role :
Korn Ferry is partnering with our client, a leading financial services provider, to find a dynamic and experienced Director of Legal. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, stable, growing company as the in-house attorney. The Director of Legal will report to the CEO and will play a key role in the future of the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide expert legal advice to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior management on all aspects of the business.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, including Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulations and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) audits.
- Manage privacy and cybersecurity policies and practices.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and partnership agreements.
- Handle litigation and disputes, including overseeing outside counsel in collections / consumer bankruptcy proceedings.
- Lead due diligence and provide strategic legal advice on mergers, acquisitions, and financing.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with labor and employment laws.
- Continuously identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes as a member of the executive management team.

Compensation :
The compensation range is $200k-$350k / annually including base and bonus. Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, and 401k.
