Job Summary And Qualifications
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and direction of the Emergency Department Medical Director and the general supervision of the Emergency Department Director/Manager and in accordance with the standards of care and practice referenced by the state of New Hampshire Medical Control Board’s Paramedic Patient Care Protocols as described in the NH code of Administrative Rules, and the established departmental policies and procedures the Paramedic in the Emergency Department serves as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance to the ED Providers and Registered Nurse with the care of the Emergency Department patients. As a professional, the paramedic is responsible to maintain clinical competence through continuing education, literature review and participation in the Performance Improvement/Customer Service process. Provides age-specific, individualized care that supports protection from harm under the guidance of the registered nurse and with the physician’s order for protocols, medications and diagnostic tests.

- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Emergency Medical Paramedic (EMP)
- Vocational School Graduate
