What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer position at Portzen Construction, Inc.?
We are seeking a Laborer to join our team. Portzen Construction, Inc. is a general contractor located in Dubuque, IA.
This is a full-time position that can be seasonal. Some travel may be required within a 150 miles radius of Dubuque.
Responsibilities
- Work on multiple job sites, installing underground utilities and performing concrete work
- Work on or with a concrete paving crew, a catch basin/curb crew, a site prep crew and/or a pipe crew
- Work with Foreman or Project Superintendent to successfully complete projects
- Perform general cleanup of job sites
- Ability to understand concrete and methods of installation and construction

- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Possess good understanding of basic math
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds
- Experience is helpful but not required
- Ability to learn and follow directions
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and strength test
