Roles And Responsibilities:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the cause of challenging behaviors.
- Analyze data to develop effective behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to develop comprehensive support plans.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and the effectiveness of interventions.
- Implement effective behavior strategies for classroom management
- Provide training and support to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff on behavior management techniques and the implementation of BIPs.
- Create materials and resources related to ABA to administrators, educators, paraprofessionals, and/or parents/guardians.
- Offer ongoing coaching and professional development in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and practices.
- Collaborate and train various staff (e.g., paraprofessionals, teachers, therapists, etc.) across various settings within the school (e.g., self contained classrooms, GenEd classrooms, etc.) on general ABA principles, ABA methodologies, and individualized client programming.
- Work with families to support the implementation of behavior plans at home.
- Develop and oversee data collection systems to monitor student progress and the fidelity of BIP implementation.
- Analyze data to make data-driven decisions and modifications to intervention plans as necessary.
- Participate in school-wide trainings and meetings including professional development sessions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including special education teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, intervention plans, progress reports, and other required documentation.
- Prepare and present reports on student progress and program effectiveness to school administrators and parents.
- Travel between site to site within the Hawthorne School District schools
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Follow 2024-2025 Hawthorne School District calendar
- Applicants are required to have the BCBA® credential.
- Experience working in a school setting with students with disabilities.
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- State licensure or certification as required for the state of NJ
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, staff, and parents.
- Current residency in New Jersey or living a commutable distance to 07506.
- Demonstrate core values of community, integrity, and professional growth.
