As a Developmental Paraprofessional, you’ll work 1-on-1 with our clients in their homes using our developmental approach to care. You’ll be fully supported by our Clinical team on your journey to becoming an invaluable resource to a child and their family.

What you’ll do as a Developmental Paraprofessional:

• You will work a micro part-time role consisting of approximately 4-10 hours per week.
• Earn as you learn our unique method of care. Training pays $20/hr and takes approximately 20 hours.
• Provide one-on-one play-based care for a child or young adult with autism.
• Follow a personalized plan for your client—reporting progress each session through our custom mobile app
• Communicate thoughtfully and professionally with your client’s family so that they become an informed extension of our care program
• Attend clinical lectures and team meetings to aid in your development

Physical Requirements:

The role of a Developmental Paraprofessional requires a high level of physical activity to effectively support and ensure the safety of clients. This includes, but is not limited to, the ability to:

• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds to assist clients with mobility, transitions, or handling therapeutic equipment.
• Engage with clients during play based or therapeutic activities in a manner that may involve positioning at various levels, such as sitting, kneeling, or crouching.
• Respond immediately and effectively to client needs, including running or adjusting positioning promptly to ensure clients safety and well-being.
• Sustain active participation in hands-on activities with clients throughout the scheduled shift in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  
  

These physical requirements are essential to providing high-quality care and ensuring the safety of both clients and staff during therapy sessions and other interactions.

About you:

• You have an interest in a career in child development. Previous experience working with children for at least 1 year is required.
• Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Education, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Medicine, Speech and Language, Rehabilitation, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a comparable degree in a Human Services field.
• You are able to commit to working for Positive Development for at least 12 months.
• You have the patience, and the empathy required to work with a child that is deserving of both.
• You have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license or state ID. We offer work-to-work commute mileage reimbursement.
