What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Compliance Coordinator position at Positive Investments?
We are seeking an experienced Housing Compliance Coordinator to ensure compliance with TCAC (Tax Credit Allocation Committee) regulations and Affordable Housing program requirements. This role will be responsible for monitoring resident eligibility, maintaining compliance records, and ensuring all properties meet federal, state, and local housing regulations. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Yardi and a deep understanding of compliance requirements in affordable housing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all properties comply with TCAC and Affordable Housing program requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local housing regulations.
Assist in preparing and submitting required reports to regulatory agencies.
Resident Eligibility & Certification:
Review and process income certifications, recertifications, and applications to ensure compliance.
Conduct audits of resident files to confirm eligibility and adherence to program guidelines.
Provide guidance to property management teams regarding eligibility determinations.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate and organized compliance records in Yardi.
Generate compliance reports and track deadlines for annual and interim recertifications.
Assist in responding to audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
Training & Support:
Provide training to property managers and leasing staff on compliance policies and procedures.
Stay informed on changes to compliance regulations and update internal policies accordingly.
Qualifications & Skills:
2 years of experience in Affordable Housing compliance, including TCAC regulations.
Strong working knowledge of Yardi or similar property management software.
Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and other affordable housing regulations.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Certifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field (preferred).
TCAC Compliance Certification or equivalent (preferred).
