Rough cleaning involves collecting and disposing of all trash, debris and leftover materials without paying attention to detail.

Some construction and demolition waste may be hazardous, and you should not dispose of it down the drain or in regular trash containers. These include leftover paints, varnish, adhesives, and their containers, treated wood, products with mercury, and asbestos-based construction debris. Treat this type of waste as per state or country regulations. Furthermore, ensure to wear suitable PPE during handling. When in doubt, please request more information to immediate supervisor.
Job Description
- Typical tasks include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, blowing, trash removal, and operating basic cleaning equipment.
- Remove any debris that is too large to be swept.
- Sweep loose dust and dirt.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. digging, stacking up materials, collecting trash, removing full trash bags from trash bins, clean up worksite including but not limited to bathrooms, offices, roof, surroundings, and any other area inside the jobsite).
- Dust down surfaces like ceiling fans, door frames, windows, and cabinets with a dry microfiber cloth.
- Remove stickers from doors, windows, cabinet handles, and equipment.
- Use a high-powered vacuum to collect dust and dirt left on the floors after sweeping, if needed.
- Assist on cleaning areas of work to welders, carpenters, painters or other tradespeople on-site
- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.
Requirements
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of at least 50 pounds)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
Experience:
- Previous experience in a commercial cleaning role is preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move objects as needed.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings or weekends if necessary.
- Transportation to the work site.
Working Conditions:
- Physical activity includes lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals (e.g., bleach or chlorine) and varying temperatures.
Additional Information:
- Work Environment: This position involves working indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions and potential hazards.
- Schedule: Typically the schedule will go from Mondays - Fridays, from 7:00am - 3:30pm. May include working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on project needs.
