Positive Recovery currently has 19 locations statewide. We are presently seeking enthusiastic, compassionate Recovery Advocates for our state licensed and Joint Commission certified Residential facility.
Position Description:
The Recovery Advocate is a member of the multidisciplinary team who is directly involved in providing quality care to our clients. This critical role is key not only to the operational flow of the facility but to making a difference in the lives of our clients. The RA is responsible for providing structure for our clients during programming, after hours, and during weekend activities.
Essential Functions:
· Oversees and coordinates client activities according to established service schedules.
· Works directly with each Recovery Advocate to ensure proper training and understanding of processes, client schedules and procedures. Provides input to Recovery Advocate Coordinators on Recovery Advocate training and performance issues.
· Assists Recovery Advocate Coordinators to ensure that Recovery Advocates are engaged in appropriate and effective client observation and interaction to maximize client safety and engagement/participation in activities in assigned services.
· Coordinates with Recovery Advocate Coordinator on Recovery Advocate schedules
· Assigns tasks and monitors the activities of Recovery Advocates based on the needs of the assigned services.
· Adheres to Positive Recovery policies and procedures and state and accreditation standards.
· Documents observations in the medical record and communicates client issues and concerns to the nursing/clinical and administrative staff.
· Serves as a role model to the clients, demonstrating an understanding of the fundamentals to a balanced recovery service.
· Coordinate client care and ensure that clients are in groups and aware of unit expectations.
· Coordinates admissions with the nursing staff to ensure the safety of the client and the client environment.
· Assists in emergency situations as directed.
· Understands and maintains confidentiality of patient information and records.
· Recognizes crisis situations and provides appropriate interventions based on training and experience.
· Create weekly supply list
· Coordinate random drug screens
· Facilitates or co-facilitates CD Educational groups.
· Monitors client self-administration of medication.
· Coordinate weekly medication counts
Sits, stands, and walks for extended time periods to ensure staff and service
Minimum Qualifications:
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· High School diploma or GED. College degree preferred, but not required
· Minimum of 1 year experience as a Recovery Advocate or equivalent experience in the field of alcohol/drug abuse residential treatment or related social services delivery field, residential preferred.
· Valid TexasDrivers License
· Experience with a 12-step program preferred
· Proficient using general computer skills.
