What are the responsibilities and job description for the Batching Operator I position at Post Consumer Brands?
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate and understand batching and grinding equipment using WEM automation operating system. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, Hammer Mills, Bulk Mixer, Weigh Scales, and Mill Elevators and drags.
- Fix or diagnose any mechanical problems with batching equipment; escalate to the Maintenance department, if necessary.
- Give clear communication and direction to several departments including, but not limited to: Material Handlers, Truck Drivers, Micro-ingredient Warehouse personnel, feed mill personnel, Extrusion Operators, and Maintenance department personnel.
- Monitor levels of bulk raw material bins and help to coordinate delivery of bulk shipments.
- Ensure the goods delivered to the warehouse are in accordance with approved orders and the associated bill of lading or invoice.
- Responsible for housekeeping of the batching department.
- Report any food safety issues, security breaches, attempts at product tampering or contamination, and/or other suspicious behavior observed to manager/supervisor.
- Complete and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Routine List (DRL), HACCP procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Compliance.
- Maintain a food-safe sanitary environment at all times.
- 1 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred with experience in a food manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Forklift certified preferred.
- Strong ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in written form.
- Attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated and responsible.
- Ability to follow documented processes.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of accuracy; 10 key (weigh master experience preferred).
- Safely operate a forklift and other mechanical equipment.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing greater than 50 pounds.
- Regularly stand and walk throughout plant.
- Occasionally climb ladders and work at heights of 100 feet.
- Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts/machinery.
- Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust.
- Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels.
- Regularly exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.

Pay: The pay range for this position is up to $20 per hour, dependent on experience.
