Works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible for performing mechanical, electrical, and electronic plant/equipment maintenance so that production down time is minimized and efficiency is maximized. Support, implement, and maintain food safety and quality practices as required through SQF. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality and environmental practices.

Work Schedule
- 5:30 AM - 5:50 PM

2-2-3 schedule with in built-in overtime and every other weekend off
- Week one: 2 days on - 2 days off - 3 days on
- Week two: 2 days off - 2 days on - 3 days off
- Plans and Directs the work for the shift maintenance crew.
- Plans and coordinates work activities of maintenance department and contractors.
- Production support in all areas of the facility.
- Creates work orders and PMs.
- Troubleshoots problems with equipment.
- Provides a safe work environment for employees.
- Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
- Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
- Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (e.g. work orders, 3111s, downtime records, absentee records, etc.)
- Encourages suggestions from employees which will improve production, quality, safety and/or control costs of production.
- Understands company policies and keeps supervisor informed on operating and/or employee problems which may require their attention or knowledge.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Associate degree (A.S., A.A.) or two-year technical certificate in Mechanics and Electronics or a related field and two years of mechanical and electrical maintenance and supervisory experience is preferred.
- Communication and interpersonal relations as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisors, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Ability to learn computerized maintenance management system.
- Knowledge of basic fluid power, industrial electricity, mechanical components, PLCs, welding, machining, robotics and rigging. Also desired is knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, plant operations and government safety regulations.
- Able to supervise department personnel in a fair and consistent manner.
- Be able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve.
