Position Summary:
The Fabricator and Production Scheduler role at Post Material Handling is a dynamic and vital position within our company. This position involves fabricating components using welding, polishing, and machining techniques, with a focus on stainless steel and sanitary material finishes. Additionally, the role entails overseeing production schedules, coordinating workflows, and delegating tasks to meet customer delivery requirements. The Fabricator and Production Scheduler will collaborate with various teams, communicate with management, and ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Fabricate components using various techniques, including welding, polishing, and machining, with a focus on stainless steel and sanitary material finishes.
- Review and prepare production schedules based on due dates and work order requirements.
- Oversee and prioritize the picking system across Sheet Metal, Machining, and Assembly departments to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between fabrication, machining, assembly, and outside processing teams, facilitating effective communication with management.
- Process jobs, work orders, and engineering drawing sets on the production floor, ensuring adherence to due dates and tracking project status.
- Delegate shop drawings to the fabrication, machining, and assembly teams, assigning priorities and monitoring progress.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and company policies throughout the production process.
- Utilize computer literacy skills to manage production schedules and track project status effectively.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in fabrication, including welding, polishing, and machining, with a focus on stainless steel and sanitary material finishes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with different teams and management.
- Proficient computer literacy, including experience with scheduling software and spreadsheet applications.
- Detail-oriented mindset and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- High level of self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
·High School Diploma or equivalent required.
·1-2 years of scheduling experience required.
·Production Scheduling: Demonstrated experience in reviewing and preparing production schedules based on work order requirements and due dates. Experience with coordinating workflows and prioritizing tasks to meet customer delivery requirements is beneficial.
Fabrication Skills: Proven experience and expertise in fabricating components using techniques such as welding, polishing, and machining. Familiarity with working with stainless steel and achieving sanitary material finishes is highly desirable.
Communication and Liaison: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various teams, including fabrication, machining, assembly, and outside processing. Acting as a liaison for communication with management and coordinating information flow is important.
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer skills, including working with scheduling software, spreadsheets, and other relevant applications to manage production schedules and track project status.
