Job Summary
The Employer Relations Specialist for the Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD) assists with developing and maintaining relationships with employers, industry partners, and alumni to expand internship and job opportunities for Post University students. This role assists with implementing employer engagement initiatives, coordinating career fairs and networking events, and supporting student preparation for the workforce. The Specialist will also meet with students for career coaching sessions focused on career exploration, job search strategies, and professional development. The job is an in-person opportunity on Post U's main campus in Waterbury, CT.
Responsibilities
Employer Relations
- Support relationship-building efforts with employers to help expand hiring opportunities for students and alumni.
- Assist in organizing campus-wide career events, such as career fairs, networking opportunities, and employer information sessions.
- Maintain the employer database and contribute to tracking student career outcomes to support reporting and insights.
- Help prepare and distribute recruitment materials and communications to inform and engage employer partners.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate classroom visits and support employer-led presentations highlighting career pathways.
- Collect and summarize employer and student event feedback to help refine future programming and ensure students are workforce-ready.
Career Coaching
- Provide individual career coaching, including resume writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and career exploration.
- Help deliver career-focused workshops, webinars, and presentations for on-campus and online students.
- Collaborate with team members to support internship and experiential learning opportunities.
- Contribute to initiatives the Workforce Ready Committee led to help students build skills and access resources for career readiness.
- Represent the CCPD at professional conferences and events and participate in university committees as needed.
- Support CCPD visibility by attending professional development events and participating in university activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Higher Education, Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience, with a preference for career services, talent acquisition, human resources, higher education, or related fields.
- Demonstrated professionalism and tact when working with students, alumni, employers, and community partners.
- Knowledge of CRM systems or databases
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to actively listen and facilitate reflective learning for students and alumni.
- Experience in guiding and teaching the writing of resumes and cover letters, interview preparation, and job search strategies preferred.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset and flexibility to work on multiple projects.

This position requires a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours to meet the operational needs of the CCPD.
