We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Financial Services Representative to join our team. As a key point of contact for our members, the Financial Services Representative will conduct interviews to assess their financial needs and recommend products and services that align with their goals.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement and Service:
- Opening new accounts, including trust accounts and memberships.
- Ensuring members receive services that align with their financial needs.
- Providing clear and accurate disclosures on new accounts and lending products.
- Assist Business Development Officer on site visits to core sponsor to enhance membership and engagement.
Loan Processing:
- Interviewing members to assess loan eligibility (consumer and real estate loans).
- Determining collateral needs and loan payment plans.
- Reviewing credit reports to verify identity and identify cross-sell opportunities.
- Processing loan applications, verifying debts, and calculating debt-to-income ratios.
- Selling additional loan-related products like MBI, GAP, and Debt Protection.
- Ensuring correct processing of title work for collateralized loans and verifying insurance policies for vehicles and real estate.
Cross-Selling and Business Development:
- Actively promoting and cross-selling products such as IRAs, credit cards, and share certificates.
- Reaching out to members for business development, including conducting outbound calls and sending correspondence.
- Increasing brand awareness and generating new membership opportunities through business development efforts.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Adhering to state and federal regulations, ensuring all processes and operations comply.
- Ensuring safety and security procedures are followed at all times.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, competition, and regulatory changes.
Team Collaboration and Personal Development:
- Working closely with management and other employees to meet credit union goals.
- Participating in training and development opportunities to stay current on products and services.
- Assisting colleagues with problem-solving and complex work-related issues.
- Completing assigned projects in a timely manner and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
Requirements
- Proven member service experience, ideally 3-5 years’ experience within a financial institution or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of financial products and services, including but not limited to, deposits, IRAs, consumer loans, and real estate lending.
- Be proficient in job related technology applications including the Credit Union’s operating system and lending system.
- Hold Notary appointment
- Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration is required and must be maintained.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with members and colleagues.
- A proactive, results-driven approach to identifying opportunities for member engagement and business growth.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to providing excellent member service.
- Experience with or willingness to learn about core sponsor relationships and membership engagement strategies is a plus.
