The Potawatomi Wardrobe Department keeps our team members looking their best by ensuring team members have a clean, professional uniform to wear at work. As a Wardrobe Seamstress you will fit, alter and repair team member uniforms. While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by demonstrating unsurpassed guest service, a high level of integrity and ethical standards, and personal and professional dedication to our Mission, Vision, and Values.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  • Fit newly hired team members for their uniforms and prepare garments for new team member Orientations including pant hems and any needed alterations.
  • Complete and file new hire paperwork to ensure accurate order fill of garments for team member orientation.
  • Perform required alterations such as pant hems, sleeve alterations, size alterations, jacket zipper replacements and suit adjustments.
  • Repair and maintain returned uniforms/wardrobe including but not limited to, sewing pockets closed, sewing ripped seams and general repair.
  • Custom embroider cook coats and other garments as requested.
  • Perform inventory related transactions including but not limited to verifying received stock, unpacking and preparing garments for use; adding label swatches and sewing pockets closed.
  • Sew RFID chip into each garments.
  • Provide assistance with maintaining stock order; and participating in cycle counts and monthly/yearly inventory as needed
  • Provide assistance with the issue, exchange, and return of uniforms/garments as needed.
  • Help prepare uniforms/garments for laundry pick-up and other laundry related duties as needed.
  • Data enter return uniforms/wardrobe information into software. Complete and file new hire and termination paperwork to ensure accurate tracking of uniforms/wardrobe.
  • Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience operating industrial grade sewing machines and performing complex alterations are required.
  • The ability to demonstrate the operation of the following sewing machines: Straight Stitch, Blind Hem, Embroidery, Serger and other industrial type machines as needed.
  • Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to read and interpret written instructions and diagrams.
  • The ability to use strong organization skills and attention to detail to accurately handle multiple job duties and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
  • The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, move, or sit for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to

Working Conditions
The noise level is usually moderate. When on the casino floor the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free. While performing the duties of the job, the team member will work near and with moving parts such as use industrial grade sewing machines.
