Position Summary:
Command Cyber Solutions (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Data Center Engineering SME. The Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General (OIG) relocated their NIPRNet (NIPR) and SIPRNet (SIPR) infrastructure, data, and applications to a Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC). Having all OIG servers, applications, and DR capabilities operational at the DISA DECC, the OIG has a requirement to implement and maintain a data center engineering support model that will establish the tools, processes, and resources required to successfully operate and support technology systems located across the DISA DECC, Mark Center, and OIG field offices. Currently, OIG is working on efforts to enhance capabilities via cloud modernization activities. OIG is seeking highly skilled data center engineering services to develop, identify, implement and support the tools, technologies, networks, and processes that will ensure the ongoing success of OIG operations and execution of the DoD OIG mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Engineering Support: Provide highly skilled engineering support for all DoD OIG data center cloudprojects and activities required to ensure the successful operation of NIPR and SIPR systems in theOIG data center ecosystem and cloud environments. These activities include, but are not limited tonetwork design and implementation, system design and implementation, cloud design andimplementation, project planning, development of technical documentation, deployment of automateddiscovery, mapping, and migration toolsets, server performance optimization and right-sizing, networkand server monitoring, DR planning and implementation, backup and encryption solution deployment,and validation of operational systems.
• Server and Application Migration Support. Support and perform server / application migrations inthe cloud environments as required. Migrations include on-going cloud and application deploymentprojects to the Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud environments. Work with project teams and applicationowners to plan, analyze and execute projects related to MS Exchange email, SharePoint, MS Teams,etc.
• Develop technical solutions in a hands-on role to serve as a technical cloud SME working directly withcustomers and other engineers, enterprise architects, program managers, etc.
• Develop courses of action using innovative and Cloud best practices
• Perform architecture, design, and requirements analysis using systems engineering tools
• Focus on cloud-native services and optimizing the customer landscape through adoption of these services
• Take ownership of issues and act with high sense of urgency when required providing direct support to customers providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting direction, and complex problem resolution
• Produce clear and concise documentation including program-level, design artifacts, as-built documents, and user level documentation to fully capture technical baselines and operational capabilities to guide operations and activities associated to enterprise scale cloud environments
• Provide advisory services for technical solutioning within DoD IT related frameworks, standards, and policies
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
• Eight (8) years of experience in a cloud engineering role
Required Certifications:
• IAT III required to start
Security Clearance Requirement:
• Active DoD SECRET clearance with the eligibility of TS/SCI
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:
• Cloud subject matter expertise in Microsoft Azure platform Ability to meet 100% of established project milestones on time.
• Provide inputs to Program Manager for Status Reports and other reporting as needed.
• Delivery experience and working knowledge utilizing key Department of Defense guidance and governance including DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA)
• Passion for technology and strong skillset with proven experience in cloud engineering, migration, implementation, etc best practices
• Skills in delivery areas of Cloud, IT Infrastructure, Architecture, and Security as well as hands on core system administration skills in Linux or Windows
• Zero Trust, and STIG remediation experience
• Extensive knowledge of, and hands on with, DoD Enterprise networks and understanding how those solutions translate to a cloud environment
• Experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud capabilities
• Experience with roll-out of large distributed systems and application architecture and engineering experience
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using appropriate tooling
• Experience in migrating on premise applications to cloud including methods such as rehosting, replatforming, and rearchitecting
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to lead

• Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days.
