Position Summary
Command Cyber Solutions (CCS), a federal government contractor, is seeking a qualified Field and Mobile Integration Engineer with solution architect experience to support engineering and integration services for the 2026 Census Test. The successful candidate will assist with planning and analysis of technical system integration supporting the Census 2026 Census Integration Test. This role supports systems technology planning and analysis, engineering management, engineering, and integration efforts for a technology system that incorporates mobile device management, field operations, cybersecurity, identity management and a cloud back end. The Field and Mobile Integration Engineer will contribute both in consultative and “hands-on” roles and will collaborate with Census technology teams to ensure alignment with overall Census Bureau mission, technology standards and strategies. This position is 100% remote.

The Mission
- The Decennial Census plays a critical role in our nation's governance, informing congressional representation and guiding the allocation of $1.5 trillion in federal funding each year. In preparation for 2030, CCS is seeking highly skilled and motivated Integration Specialists to join the 2026 Census Test IT (26CT) Integration program.
- The Decennial requires innovative, scalable IT solutions to support the count of every person living in the United States and its territories. Decennial systems must scale to process millions of daily responses, support the largest non-military workforce mobilization in the world (350k workers), and maintain the highest standards of data security and individual privacy.
The successful candidate should demonstrate experience guiding teams through the use process-oriented approaches for each phase of solution design lifecycle. The successful candidate must have experience both with technical integration and with methodologies and practices that drive consensus across various stakeholder groups.
Collaboration
- Structures collaboration to drive consensus from various stakeholder groups through accepted process and frameworks (e.g. SAFe, TOGAF, ITIL, user stories, etc.). Demonstrates excellent presentation skills enabling candidate to align technical requirements with multiple stakeholder objectives.
- Demonstrates knowledge and able to lead and guide replicable process for gathering and understanding detailed requirements from stakeholders across the Census Bureau to identify requirement gaps and inform solution design and integration.
- If required, demonstrates knowledge of process to develop, test or build integration prototypes to validate that solution integration meets requirements of the designed 2026 Integration test. Able to document phases of PoC lifecycle (e.g. design, testing, piloting).
- Designing comprehensive technical integration plans for Census IT systems, including system components, data flows, and infrastructure considerations for Field and Central operations.
- Monitoring system performance through operational dashboards and other monitoring and identifying areas for improvement to ensure efficient data transport, processing and analysis during the 2026 Integration Test.
- Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and implementing and validating security technologies and controls to comply with both Census and Federal Government mandates and regulations.
- Testing and validating that all aspects of IT systems meet functional requirements and to identify and mitigate potential technical and operational risk prior to the 2026 Integration Test.
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field.
- Seven (7) to twelve (12) years of experience with relevant technologies.
- Cloud (AWS).
- Data Dog.
- Cloudflare.
- Okta.
- Microsoft AD/Entra.
- Microsoft InTune.
- GitLab.
- Jira.
- Certifications preferred.
- A strong understanding of IT architecture principles and design that support field and mobile operations and align with the Census mission and capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to lead multiple stakeholders through all phases of solution development, maintenance and change via accepted, process-oriented frameworks.
- Ability to design, monitor, test and troubleshoot technical systems at the scale required to support Census mission (20K-30K endpoints).
- Excellent communication, documentation and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in a consultative role.
- Preferred experience with the U.S. Census Bureau.
- Basic office work environment at government facility location.
- Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days.
