Position Summary:

Advancia Government Services (a federal government contractor) seeks  experienced painter who will be responsible for performing skilled painting and finishing work to maintain the appearance and condition of buildings, facilities, and equipment. This position involves preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and ensuring that all painted areas meet quality standards. The painter will work closely with the facilities team to ensure that paintwork is completed in a timely and efficient manner to maintain aesthetics and functionality of the environment.

**Position is contingent upon award of contract.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•    Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching holes or cracks
•    Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes to surfaces such as walls, doors, windows, and ceilings
•    Inspect and assess surfaces for damage and recommend necessary repairs or treatments
•    Work with other maintenance staff to prioritize painting tasks in order to ensure minimal disruption to building operations
•    Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
•    Repair or replace damaged parts (E.G. trims, moldings) as part of painting projects
•    Keep records of completed tasks, including paint colors and quantities used
•    Perform other maintenance duties as required, including touch-up and routine upkeep

Education & Experience Requirements

•    High School Diploma or Equivalent
•    (One) 1 year of experience as a commercial painter or in a similar maintenance role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:

•    Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials
•    Ability to prepare surfaces and apply paint accurately
•    Strong attention to detail and high standards of work quality
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•    Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments both indoors and outdoors
•    Familiarity with safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment


Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands

•    Will be walking, standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods of time
•    Involves lifting and moving of heavy objects, up to 50 lbs
•    Will work at heights, e.g. on ladders or scaffolding
•    May be required to work in confined spaces
•    Work may be both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions
