Position Summary:
Advancia Government Services (a federal government contractor) seeks a skilled and detail-orientated Welder. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding, fabrication, and repair with a commitment to quality craftmanship and safety. The welder will be responsible for working with a variety of metals and welding techniques to assemble and repair parts and structures.
**Position is contingent upon award of contract.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Weld metal components according to blueprints, drawings, or specifications using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding
• Cut, grind, and clean metal pieces to prepare for welding
• Inspect and test welds to ensure strength and quality of final product
• Maintain welding equipment and tools
• Follow all safety procedures and guideline while handling materials and operating equipment
• Collaborate with other team members to meet project goals and deadlines
• Adhere to all company policies and standards regarding quality, safety, and environmental compliance
• Must follow strict safety protocols and wear protective gear to include helmets, goggles, and gloves
Education & Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Three (3) years proven experience as a welder
• AWS (American Welding Society) Certificate or equivalent highly desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of various welding techniques, equipment, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
• Standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods are required
• Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time
• Work will be performed in various environmental conditions including but not limited to noise, heat, confined spaces
• Welders may be exposed to intense UV light, fumes, very hot materials, sparks and hot metal drops
• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend
