What are the responsibilities and job description for the Working Foreman/Superintendent - Commercial Electrical position at Potential Electric Design Services?
We are seeking a Working Foreman/Superintendent with commercial electrical and EV charging station experience to lead teams, oversee job sites, and ensure high-quality project completion.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate crews on commercial electrical job sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Install underground conduits, grounding, and conduit racking systems (Uni-Strut, EMT, Rigid).
- Lead the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations, including wiring, termination, and commissioning.
- Rig, set, and install small to large electrical equipment for EV charging and commercial projects.
- Pull and terminate #8 to 500 MCM CU & AL wire.
- Manage materials, workflow, and scheduling to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.
- Complete JSAs, daily reports, redlines, and project closeout documentation.
- Work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
✔️ California Journeyman Electrician Certification (or actively working toward it)
✔️ 5 years of commercial electrical experience (foreman/superintendent experience preferred)
✔️ Experience installing EV Charging Stations (preferred but not required)
✔️ Strong leadership and communication skills – ability to lead crews and mentor apprentices
✔️ Tech-savvy – able to use mobile apps, digital blueprints, and industry tools
✔️ Drug-free workplace – must pass a pre-employment drug test (includes marijuana)
✔️ Clean driver’s license – no exceptions
✔️ Punctual and reliable – must be on time daily
✔️ Willing to travel – most work is in Southern California & San Diego
✔️ EVIPT certification (preferred but not required)
