We are seeking an energetic, experienced individual to join our company as a Warehouse-Driver. As part of our warehouse and delivery team, the driver will use hand trucks and occasionally forklifts to load and unload delivery vehicles, in addition to driving vehicles to delivery locations. The driver will accurately keep records of all inventory and have knowledge of effective warehouse inventory management practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, be reliable and punctual, as the position of warehouse-driver is a time critical role that requires effective time management skills and due diligence.
The warehouse-driver will be expected to make and maintain thorough, accurate records of both received and delivered items. The driver will eagerly and at all times follow workplace safety rules and guidelines when loading, transporting and unloading cargo. This is a physically demanding job position, meaning that our ideal candidate will be able to lift and move some heavy products by hand with, and sometimes without, assistance. In addition to possessing a valid driver's license, at least 1* full year* of experience in delivery driving will be required.
Our company’s ideal warehouse-driver will be one who understands that not only do drivers need to be expert operators of their vehicles but that they also need to act as highly professional, customer service representatives as well. Maintaining high standards of punctuality and personal presentation, delivery drivers must bear in mind the public-facing nature of their role.
The driver’s primary duty will be completing pick-ups from the company warehouses and then delivering them to multiple locations; however, they will also be expected to assist in the warehouse with forklift operation, picking and packing duties as required.
Warehouse-Driver Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload van and/or other vehicles
- Use forklift to move pallets and large items from warehouse to trucks
- Keep accurate records of items shipped and received
- Safely drive trucks to delivery locations and unload goods
- Transporting goods to and from a variety of locations, ensuring their punctual delivery and optimal condition on arrival
- Completion and management of all documentation related to deliveries, including packing lists, signed receipt forms, etc.
- Driving at all times in a legal and professional manner, keeping in mind the reputation of the company
- Providing professional customer service at all times
Warehouse-Driver Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience loading and unloading in a warehouse environment
- Forklift experience
- Valid drivers’ license and clean driving record
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items throughout a normal shift
- Experience with warehouse inventory management
- Positive attitude and good customer service skills
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and other staff members.
