Under general supervision, responsible for the integration and management of business application servers and supporting cloud infrastructure. This includes planning, design, installation, maintenance, and ensuring the reliability and overall performance of both on-premises and cloud-based systems. Participates in the development of IT strategy and designs infrastructure to support long-term business goals. Provides guidance on technology purchases related to data storage, access, cloud services, and application support. Ensures uninterrupted service through proactive monitoring, issue identification, and resolution.
The salary range for this position is $84,825.00 - $141,375.00.
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
This position is bonus eligible, with a target value of 10% of salary.
Application Management:
  • Support the organization’s virtual and cloud-based environments, including server infrastructure, virtual resource allocation, cloud services, and backup/replication technologies, under general supervision.
  • Design, build, administer, and maintain various applications such as Microsoft Teams, conferencing software, backup and recovery tools, and business application delivery systems.
  • Design, recommend, administer, and maintain infrastructure services including network and storage management systems, authentication services (e.g., Active Directory/Azure AD), and logging/monitoring utilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues from users, business support teams, and Information Systems staff.
  • Collaborate and communicate with application analysts to resolve issues related to supported applications.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and consultation to Information Systems staff.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of server and cloud infrastructure.
  • Leverage technology to enhance business application performance, availability, and user experience.
Project Management:
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports with guidance from senior staff.
  • Conducts project meetings, tracks progress, and performs project analysis to ensure objectives are met.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and performs thorough reviews of project deliverables.
  • Coordinates the integration of vendor tasks and monitors vendor performance and deliverables with oversight.
Operating System Infrastructure:
  • Under general supervision, design, build, administer, and maintain directory services, including replication, organizational unit (OU) structure, group management, and schema configurations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server-related issues, focusing on directory services infrastructure, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and Domain Name Services (DNS).
  • Assist in designing appropriate logging levels for auditing and operational monitoring.
  • Design and administer domain services security, including OU-level security, group permissions, Group Policy security settings, and management of privileged accounts.
  • Collaborate with Information Systems personnel to resolve server-related issues and provide technical support.
  • Support the evaluation and testing of new server infrastructure technologies and recommend improvements where applicable.
Hardware Infrastructure:
  • Under general supervision, design, build, administer, and maintain a variety of hardware solutions, including servers, backup appliances, storage systems, and data center infrastructure.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot hardware-related issues across physical and virtual devices.
  • Assist in the evaluation and testing of new hardware infrastructure technologies to support business needs and improve performance.
  • Support the design, recommendation, administration, and maintenance of network storage and replication infrastructures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of server and hardware infrastructure.
Compliance:
  • Monitor and enforce compliance and legal controls, including SOX and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and uphold computer security measures in accordance with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain and monitor backup systems, ensuring data protection, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field; or a minimum of five (5) years of directly relevant experience and/or technical training.
  • Industry certifications/training preferred.
  • Strong ability to engage with a diverse user base in a professional, responsive, and solutions-focused manner.
  • Capable of performing tasks and managing projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Leads or contributes to project management efforts on key initiatives as needed.
  • Proficient in the majority of core responsibilities and technical accountabilities.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
  • Strong project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Effective in delivering presentations and training to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participates in an after-hours on-call rotation, including nights and weekends, to support critical systems and services.
  • Actively participates in monthly maintenance days, performing scheduled system updates, optimizations, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Primarily office environment; personal protective equipment required in mill areas.
  • Exposure to sawdust in mill areas.
  • Some travel required.
  • Ability to read and interpret written documentation
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
