Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or AMT)
NH Clinic Cherry Point, NC
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare pre-operative area and PACU for patient receiving.
- Document PACU vital signs and applicable interventions in the patient’s electronic record.
- Upload paper-based patient documentation into the patient’s electronic record at discharge or end of day as appropriate.
- Perform pre-operative patient interventions per surgeon orders within the scope of practice.
- Assist patient in preparation for discharge including dressing.
- Communicate pre-operative assessment concerns to nursing, anesthesia and surgeon as appropriate.
- Communicate with patients for surgery related calls per MTF protocol.
- Assist with completion of end of day close out tasks in the APU and PACU.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists.
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.
- Must be a US Citizen.
