Clinic Medical Director
Copperas Cove, TX
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day medical operations, ensure clinical quality expectations are met, provide exceptional customer service and partner with the Clinic Operations Director. Management includes compliance requirements of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Joint Commission (JC), Environment of Care (EOC) oversight, lab compliance and other related items.
- Supervise of all clinical provider personnel within the clinic. This includes providing leadership oversight for improvement of clinical and administrative outcomes at the clinic.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate care of all patients in the event of a provider vacancy.
- Supervises and evaluates Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants working in collaborative practice, including chart review. Serves as a clinical resource to the mid-level providers.
- Inspects and makes recommendations regarding infection control and elimination of health and safety hazards.
- Achieve and maintain excellent clinical outcomes through periodic chart reviews, direct observation and providing the support and guidance to ensure the specified VA guidelines and outcomes are consistently exceeded. This includes ensuring alerts and notifications are addressed timely by all clinical staff.
- Participate in the management of the clinic’s financial performance. This includes driving revenue growth through panel management, as well as managing costs such as usage of medical supplies.
- Emphasize attracting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining talent through excellent communication, training, enforcing key competencies and performance management, when required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Provide evidence of education, training, and experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Board Certified by the ABMS or BOS in Internal Medicine and/or Family Practice.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Physician Director.
- May also be credentialed as a PCP with prescriptive authority Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Physicians shall be licensed in the state in which the Outpatient Site of Care is located.
- Contractor staff shall complete VA mandatory training as requested and complete ACLS/BLS training and keep ACLS/BLS certifications current throughout the life of the contract. Certification refers to the successful completion of an American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN) approved BLS or ACLS course. The AHA and MTN are the only programs acceptable by VA for obtaining required certification.
- Must be a US Citizen.
