Position Overview:
Potpourri Group seeks a highly skilled General Merchandise Manager to lead our corporate office in North Billerica, Massachusetts. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing the strategic direction for all apparel sold by PGI, focusing on five current portfolio brands. The GMM will lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of Buyers, driving sales, profitability, and growth while meeting corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for sales growth, profitability, and brand management across all managed catalog brands.
- Lead and mentor a team of professional Buyers, establishing succession plans and ensuring they meet set goals.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify needs and resources for each catalog brand, ensuring successful goal attainment.
- Provide product sourcing information to Buyers, leveraging industry connections to create unique, cost-effective, and exclusive product assortments.
- Apply technical knowledge to develop products with the Buying team, creating PGI exclusives that meet customer demands.
- Direct Buyers to ensure successful merchandise processes for catalog mailings.
- Analyze results and provide input to the Buying Team to adjust plans as needed.
- Manage the Apparel Product Development and Technical Fit function to support Buying Teams effectively.
- Participate in creative functions, planning meetings, and final reviews with senior management, Buying, and Product Development teams.
- Partner with Marketing, eCommerce, and Web teams to establish best-in-class presentations.
