Summary of the Position
The Lead Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory management processes to ensure accurate stock levels, efficient material flow, and compliance with company policies. This role involves coordinating daily inventory activities, troubleshooting discrepancies, and working closely with purchasing, accounting, production, and warehouse teams to optimize inventory control. The Lead Inventory Control Specialist also provides guidance to team members and implements best practices for inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Essential Functions

- Assist Inventory Conduct Specialists with cycle counts, full physical inventory audits as needed, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitoring and entering bay count program as well as entering and reconciling any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with purchasing and operation teams to forecast demand and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and identifying root causes.
- Lead, train, and mentor inventory control staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
- Utilize inventory management software (ERP/MRP) to track and manage stock levels.
- Generate inventory reports and analyze data to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- A superior understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plant.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), TEAMS, Smartsheet, Tableau, and other tools available.

- Possess strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple priorities at once.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel
This job operates in a professional business environment where standard office equipment is routinely used, such as computers, photocopy machines, fax machines, telephones and filing cabinets. This job also operates in a warehouse/manufacturing setting where various tools and equipment are used. This role must be able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel and exhibit good visual acuity to perform daily tasks.
This position must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of inventory control experience, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
- Experience with Epicor or similar ERP/MRP system.
- Willingness to attend Supply Chain continuous education seminars or class work as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
This is a full-time position, on-site at the manufacturing facility. The hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 40 hours per week. An occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate business needs.
