Summary of the Position
The Technical Support role is responsible for supporting Potter customers in a technical capacity through answering technical service calls and emails that enhance our customers’ knowledge of Potter products and systems.
Job Summary:
The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counting and reconciliation processes. This role ensures inventory accuracy by identifying and investigating discrepancies, assisting with root cause analysis, and collaborating with the inventory control team to implement corrective actions. The Cycle Counter plays a critical role in supporting the facility's operational efficiency and minimizing production delays caused by inventory issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cycle Counting:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts in accordance with the facility’s inventory control procedures.
- Accurately record and document count results, identifying variances and reporting them to the Inventory Control team.
- Ensure all counts are conducted efficiently and accurately within specified timeframes.
- Inventory Reconciliation:
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies by analyzing transaction history and identifying root causes.
- Collaborate with warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams to correct errors and update inventory records.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to mislabeling, incorrect storage locations, or system errors.
- Data Entry and Reporting:
- Accurately input cycle count data into the inventory management system (ERP).
- Generate and review cycle count reports to monitor accuracy trends.
- Assist in preparing reports on inventory accuracy, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
- Inventory Accuracy and Quality Control:
- Verify product identification, part numbers, and location accuracy during counts.
- Ensure proper handling and labeling of materials during cycle counting.
- Assist with physical inventory audits as needed.
- Compliance and Process Improvement:
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures during cycle counting activities.
- Identify and suggest improvements to inventory control processes to reduce errors and enhance accuracy.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in basic math and data entry.
- Ability to use handheld scanners and inventory management software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position with standard manufacturing hours.
- Overtime or weekend work may be required during peak periods or physical inventory audits.
