Salary Range: starting at $25.00 per hour
Do you have a knack for fixing things and enjoy hands-on work? Potters Industries is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Brownwood. In this role, you will keep our state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment running smoothly through preventative maintenance and timely repairs. The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Installs machinery, pipes, structural steel, etc.; Helps maintain correct stockroom inventory and an orderly stockroom; Interfaces with maintenance management system(s) including printing work orders, inputting information, etc.; Maintains positive attitude toward maximizing plant’s success; Receives and carries out directions accurately and efficiently.
- Complies with all corporate/plant policies and procedures; Able to work effectively either individually or in a team environment; Participates in after hours on-call rotation as applicable; Ability to read and understand OEM equipment manuals; Ability to safely operate an angle grinder, hammer drill and other powered hand tools; Ability to operate equipment such as man lifts, forklifts or other construction related equipment
- Ability to use cutting devices such as plasma, oxy-acetylene, cutting wheels; Ability to perform minor metal fabrication and pipe fitting;
- Ability to troubleshoot complex machinery and diagnose/repair equipment; Maintains and provides recommendations for spare parts and PM procedures for equipment; Knowledge of lubrication principles and in an industrial atmosphere; Ability to weld different types using various welding methods Tig, Mig, stick.
- Experience replacing gear boxes, motors, drive belts, drive chains, shafts and other mechanical transmission components; Ability to rig and move equipment or machines in a safe manner; Familiarity with natural gas safety systems and associated safety equipment; Assists with and/or performs minor electrical maintenance;
Minimum Requirements;
Highschool diploma or GED
3 to 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (or applicable Mechanical Technical Degree)
Experience in plant safety systems such as Confined Space entry, Hot Work permitting and Lockout/Tagout of industrial equipment
Basic skills in areas of industrial mechanical equipment troubleshooting and repairs, pipe fitting, minor metal fabrication including welding , and proper use of mechanical tools.
Ability to use computer - basic computer skills Works well with others - Good Team Work skills Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Experience with a fork truck preferred
