What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Lead Teacher position at Potterville Elementary School?
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of a Child Development Ass (CDA) in preschool, working toward Associate/Bachelors.
- Ability to pass a background check
- Negative TB test result
Preferred:
- Associates in ECE or equivalent coursework accepted for candidate working toward bachelor's
- 2 Years or more teaching experience in Early Childhood.
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Training and knowledge of Creative Curriculum and/or C4L Curriculum
Responsibilities:
Must have the ability to understand preschool children and find teaching them a pleasure. Energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork required. All candidates should have a warm and friendly presence, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the program philosophy and curriculum.
- Understand and support the Mission, vision and curricular philosophy of the District and Early Childhood program.
- Plan and implement activities to develop the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual skills based on the strengths, needs and interests of children.
- Establish appropriate routines, schedules and classroom expectations providing positive guidance.
- Create a learning environment that provides a variety of developmentally appropriate and diverse activities to engage children in learning, play, and

- Observe children and document growth and development through assessment and reports to parents.
- Work collaboratively with co-workers and school personnel.
- Implement program policies, Potterville School District Policies, and State Licensing guidelines.
- Maintain child records and information with confidentiality.
- The ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies.
- Ensures the classroom is a safe and healthy environment.
- Ensure the safety of all children through constant supervision.
