Pottsgrove School District has an immediate vacancy for an Assistant Middle School Principal. This position will assist the principal in providing a safe, clean environment conducive to learning.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership in the development and improvement of the district in various areas such as curriculum and instruction, student services, communications, and management.
- Assist with the administrative and instructional functions and programs to meet the educational needs of students, and assist in the development and establishment of district goals and objectives and the planning of the district instructional program.
- Maintain records associated with student discipline including building discipline statistics.
- Ensure that all students have equal access to programs.
- Maintain compliance with school law and district policy.
- Assist in supervising extra-curricular and co-curricular activities and events.
- Develop and administer an accurate master schedule, pupil assignment, lunch schedule assignment, and pupil transportation logistics, and coordinate clubs.
- Assist in providing leadership in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and training of professional and support staff for the building; coordinate and attend related SAP meetings.
- Assist in the evaluation of staff, school programs, school transportation, and building activities.
- Assist in the completion of required records and reports in a timely manner; assist in the administration of district and state assessments.
- Perform delegated management duties related to needs of the school, fiscal operations, inventories, equipment and maintaining record keeping within established guidelines; submit related school budget requests.
- Collaborate with the school resource officers, individual educational plan teams and school counselors to address discipline issues and provide support to students.
- Implement the District’s standards for behavior and implement disciplinary measures as needed.
- Collaborate with members of the law enforcement and Judicial community as needed.
- Assist the Principal in directing the program of public relations in order to further the community’s understanding and support of the education program; work with Principal as liaison between school and community.
- Serve as building liaison for assigned programs such as the Alternative Education Program or Special Education and the building; monitor IEP compliance.
- Work with Principal as liaison between school and community to further community understanding, participation, and support.
- Assist the Principal in directing the activities of the school professional and support staff members in the performance of their duties; assist in implementing programs for staff development to meet their needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum five (5) years experience in public education.
- Masters degree required.
- Proper Pennsylvania administrative certification including PA Secondary Principal’s Certification required.
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code).
- Must have current Act 34, 151 & 114
LOCATION: Pottsgrove Middle School
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience. Generous benefit package. Act 93 position.
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 12-month position (260 days).
