What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary School Counselor position at Pottsgrove School District?
The elementary school guidance counselor provides a comprehensive guidance program for students in grades 3 through 5, consults with teachers, staff, and parents to enhance students' education and has a strong understanding of special education students.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- PA Certification in elementary school counseling required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Proficient in technology and educational applications and programs in school guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code).
- Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code).
- FBI Criminal History Record.
- Submission of a child abuse history clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services in accordance with Act 151 of 1994.
- Training in suicide risk and threat assessment protocol training preferred
- ESAP trained preferred

Location : Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School Compensation : Commensurate with PGEA Collective Bargaining Unit salary schedule. Benefits : Eligible for healthcare benefits and the state retirement system (PSERS). Assignment : contract
Must have current Act 34, 151 & 114 Clearances
