Extended School Year (ESY) Nurse

Description: During ESY the nurse provides general first aid care and support to the students attending.
Dates and Details: Services are delivered June 30-July 31 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30AM-12:00PM for students and 8:15AM-12:15PM for staff. Compensation will be $36.00 per hour through June 30, 2025 and moves to $36.50 per hour beginning July 1, 2025 per the PGEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of nursing practice preferred.
- Experience with pediatrics, school nursing, emergency care and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Current license and registration as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) granted by the PA Department of Education.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Duties Include:
- Provide skilled nursing services to students with special health and developmental needs, including medication administration
- Respond to health related emergencies, including first aid and CPR
- Manages chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and seizure disorders
- Collaborate and communicate with families and staff on the ongoing medical needs of students.
- Collect and maintain all necessary health information on student and ensure accurate contact information for all students.
- Share all necessary student health/medical information with both building and bus staff to ensure appropriate care.
