What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Assistant Spring Track and Field Coach position at Pottsgrove School District?
JOB SUMMARY :
Provide a learning environment that allows players to learn new skills and reinforce established skills to improve. An assistant coach of each sport has the responsibility of carrying on the sport in the best interest of the school district by adhering to the policies and regulations of the Pottsgrove Board of Directors, as well as the practices and procedures of the school administration. Further, an assistant coach should have a working knowledge of Pottsgrove School District and the rules and regulations of the Pottsgrove Athletic Department, Pioneer Athletic Conference and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Instruct fundamentals of track and assist participants with skill development.
- Assist with planning and supervision at practices, training sessions and competitions.
- Observe and assist participants and monitor player conduct.
- Prepare lists of varsity, junior varsity and participation certificates.
- Maintain workout records for individual athletes.
- Oversee and maintain documentation for track meet line-ups and records of attendance.
- Attend league and district meetings; keep score at all meets.
- Attend Saturday invitationals from March until May.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
