What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Tutor position at Pottsgrove School District?
West Pottsgrove Elementary School is currently seeking a part-time Intervention Tutor.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cooperatively with the principal, subject supervisors and other staff members to develop and implement research-based reading intervention lessons and activities.
- Periodically assess students’ progress in research based intervention programs.
- Provide meaningful, appropriate learning experiences for assigned groups of children including differentiated instruction to meet individual needs of children.
- Maintain a plan book as directed by the principal have daily plans readily available for the use of a substitute in the event of absence.
- Appropriately, integrate technology into the teaching-learning process.
- Periodically evaluate children’s progress within intervention programs as a basis for planning and reporting to parents.
- Complete and record students’ progress on appropriate records or documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Pennsylvania teaching certificate - preferred.
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code) Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code) FBI Criminal History Record
- Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994
LOCATION: West Pottsgrove Elementary School
SALARY: $24.78/hour starting rate
HOURS: 9:15 AM - 3:00 PM Monday through Friday on all student days (5.25 hours per day)
