Organizational Overview :
PFP is a farm-based nonprofit organization committed to cultivating a just and sustainable food system in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Our mission is to cultivate local leadership in sustainable farming, food access, and education while fostering an inclusive, welcoming community for all.
Structural Overview : Poughkeepsie Farm Project utilizes a Shared Leadership structure rather than a traditional hierarchical organizational chart. The organization is led by a Co-Director team. Staff work in cross-functional “Circles” which focus on specific areas of work.
Position Overview :
This position is a member of PFP’s Co-Executive Director Team, which shares executive leadership responsibilities across programs, operations, and strategy. This role oversees farm-based and community-focused educational programs, including Farm to School initiatives, workshops, public events, and the Herbal Garden program. The Director ensures grant deliverables are met, fosters partnerships, and champions equity, accessibility, & engagement.

Supervisees : Green Jobs Co-Managers, Education Coordinators
Circle Stewardship : Public Education Circle, Herbal Products Sub-Circle, Green Jobs Sub-Circle, Food Share sub-circle & rotation of Director Circle
Circle Participation : Grants Circle and General Circle
Key Responsibilities :
Program Leadership and Development
- Plan and implement community-based educational programs aligned with PFP’s mission and strategic goals.
- Oversee Farm to School initiatives, including field trips, taste tests, classroom visits, and professional development.
- Coordinate workshops, volunteer orientations, and educational programming for youth and community members.
- Integrate food justice, racial equity, and sustainability into all programming.
- Lead curriculum development to ensure relevance and impact.
