What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Transition Program - Instructional Assistant position at Poway Unified School District?
The job of Adult Transition Program Instructional Assistant is done for the purpose/s of providing, under the direction of an assigned supervisor, a variety of instructional and support services for students ages 18 – 22 with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the enhancement of school-to-career transition; with specific responsibilities for assisting in the instruction, behavior management, and supervision of students. Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Two years of experience working with students of various age levels requiring a specialized learning environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Equivalency: Possession of a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent and one of the following: 1) completion of at least two years of study (minimum 48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; 2) possession of an associate's (or higher) degree; or 3) passing the District's local assessment that demonstrates the knowledge and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics at a level meeting state and federal requirements.
