What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career/Life Skills Technician position at Poway Unified School District?
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide a variety of instructional and support services to special education students in the enhancement of school to career transition; assist individual students with developing vocational skills and obtaining jobs; provide related liaison, independent living and employment development services. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: associate's degree with course work in sociology, psychology or related field and two years experience working with disabled or at-risk students including work with vocational development.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid California Class C driver’s license.
- Valid certifications provided by American Heart Association, American Red Cross or District approved provider for First Aid, Adult/Child CPR and AED. Online certifications will be accepted from these vendors as long as a hands-on skills assessment is completed. Recertification to maintain current/valid status is a condition of employment.
