Requirements
Role: Snow Cat Operator/Groomer - Level II
Status: FT Seasonal, Hourly
Shift - Swing Shift (3pm-10pm), Night Shift (10pm - 6am)
Reporting To: Slopes and Snow Quality Manager
The role of Level 2 Groomers is to provide safe and efficient grooming of all Powder Mountain trails and slopes. Operator will possess sufficient ability and experience to safely groom independently or with a team.
Performance Expectations:
- Experience with various snow and weather conditions and can operate a variety of snowcats
- Understand and perform all safety aspects of equipment operation
- Understand and perform all pre-shift equipment checks on any Powder Mountain equipment
- Understand and perform all post-shift equipment checks on any Powder Mountain equipment
- Read and understand all Powder Mountain Grooming manuals
- Acquire knowledge of the mountain (Names and locations of trails, Traverses, Lifts and other facilities)
- Ability to make decisions independently
- Be aware of fixed obstacles (Trees, Buildings, Rope lines, Trail signs and Maps)
- Must have great communication skills
- Must demonstrate great attention to detail
- Willing to help other departments as the need arises
Job Requirements:
- Preferred 3 to 5 years' experience in snowcat operations.
- Preferred heavy and grooming equipment experience (front end loaders, snow cats and related equipment).
- Basic understanding of all Pre and Post shift equipment checks
- If necessary, work hours other than scheduled pertaining to weather conditions.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Overall understanding of Powder Mountains policies and procedures
- Good work ethic, polite to co-works and follows directions when being asked to undergo a task
- Must be dependable and have excellent communication skills
- Reliable transportation, preferably 4x4 vehicle
Level 2 Requirements:
- Mid-level position requiring a moderate level of experience and expertise in Grooming
- Requires a higher level of technical knowledge and experience compared to groomer level I.
- May involve leadership responsibilities, such as supervising junior Groomers.
- Often requires additional vocational training or certifications beyond the basics.
- Operates under moderate supervision
- Groom designated area on your own
- Ability to cut and delineate sides of groomed trail
- Maintain ramps
- Can all Powder Mountain terrain
- Ability to Groom in adverse conditions
