The Heavy Maintenance Manager will oversee a team of licensed tradespeople at Powder Mountain, including electricians, plumbers, and other skilled professionals. The ideal candidate is a licensed electrician with leadership experience and a passion for developing apprentices within the organization.
Requirements
Work is performed inside and outside. Candidate will be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot &cold), sun, wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000 ft ), moving machines/equipment, dust, wet, humid, loud noises, fumes from chemical conditions, and frequent altitude changes.

The Heavy Maintenance Manager will oversee a team of licensed tradespeople at Powder Mountain, including electricians, plumbers, and other skilled professionals. The ideal candidate is a licensed electrician with leadership experience and a passion for developing apprentices within the organization.
Requirements
- Manage and mentor a team of licensed tradespeople and apprentices.
- Oversee electric maintenance and support other trades as needed.
- Ensure proper supervision of apprentices working on electrical systems for resort buildings, ski lifts, and future construction projects.
- Develop internal training programs to support apprentice development.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Assign and track maintenance work orders related to the department.
- Perform electrical maintenance on resort infrastructure, ski lift systems, and neighboring housing developments.
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems, including low-voltage controls and 120V–480V systems (single and three-phase).
- Operate heavy machinery when necessary.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate mid- to large-sized maintenance projects with internal and external teams.
- Collaborate with other resort departments to minimize operational disruptions.
- Develop and enforce safety programs for trades personnel.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and industry safety standards.
- Manage tracking of billable hours and materials to maintain a positive department cash flow.
- Coordinate procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
- Must have a current valid drivers license with no major violations.
- Required to work on-site
- Available for weekend, holiday, and on-call work as required.
- Must comply with company policies regarding drug and alcohol use, including random drug testing/alcohol screening and drug testing/alcohol screening based on reasonable suspicion while working.
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician in the State of Utah (or comparable trade license). With the ability to obtain their Master license within 6 months to a year.
- Minimum 5 years working with low-voltage control systems and medium voltage (480V or higher).
- Experience working on medium voltage systems preferred
- OSHA 10 for construction or general industry required. (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Able to be insured through the company in order to be eligible to drive company vehicles.
- Available for weekend, holiday, and on-call work as required.
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance abilities for electrical and mechanical equipment. With a focus on low voltage, 120V/240V single phase, and 277V/480V 3 phase.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment as required.
- Experience working with electrical systems in resort environments (preferred).
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and twisting.
- Comfortable working on uneven and slippery terrain.
- Manual dexterity for operating hand and power tools.
